What does an airport look like when it becomes a stage for the future of aviation?
This weekend, Lleida-Alguaire Airport became exactly that during Lleida Air Challenge 2026.
As night fell, thousands of drones took to the sky, transforming a real aviation environment into a spectacular canvas of light, movement and technology.
But this was about more than a drone light show.
Lleida-Alguaire is also an important base for EHang’s activities in Europe — a place where unmanned aviation, eVTOL and Advanced Air Mobility are moving from vision toward real-world testing, demonstration and operation.
Against this backdrop, the performance told a larger story:

From the aircraft that once transformed how we understand distance, to autonomous aerial systems that may transform how we understand cities, mobility and the sky itself, aviation is entering another era.
