EHang Holdings Limited announced it has received a purchase order for 50 units of its EH216-S pilotless electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft from Guizhou Scenic Tourism Development Co., Ltd. (the Customer), a wholly owned subsidiary of Guizhou Tourism Group.
The aircraft are planned for deployment in scenic areas across Guizhou province, China, to provide low-altitude aerial tourism and sightseeing services and explore new tourism applications.
Meanwhile, EHang has reached a cooperation agreement with the Management Committee of the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Anshun City in Guizhou province.
The two parties aim to jointly create a flagship model of technology-enabled cultural tourism and support the high-quality growth of the province’s low-altitude economy.
With its diverse landscapes and rich tourism resources, Guizhou province provides an ideal environment for pilotless eVTOL applications.
In 2025, the Guizhou provincial government’s work report emphasized the development of the low-altitude economy and proposed the creation of multiple tourism, logistics and emergency-use scenarios in its Three-Year Action Plan for the High-Quality Development of the Low-Altitude Economy (2025–2027) (draft for public consultation).
Anshun stands out within Guizhou with its strong foundation for low-altitude industry growth, including an established aerospace supply chain, robust infrastructure and supportive policies.
The province places a strong emphasis on advancing Anshun’s aviation and low-altitude sectors. EHang’s cooperation with Anshun and the Customer will further diversify low-altitude application scenarios, attract high-end talent and technologies, and promote collaborations in aircraft R&D, component manufacturing, testing and trial operations.
These efforts aim to build a more advanced, intelligent and sustainable low-altitude industry and foster a globally competitive industrial cluster.
Guizhou Tourism Group serves as the province’s core tourism operator and integrated service provider for all-for-one tourism. The Customer manages several of Guizhou’s most notable scenic destinations, including Jiabang Rice Terraces in Congjiang, Basha Miao Village and Yunfeng Tunpu in Anshun.
Changpeng Yang, secretary of Anshun City, said:
“In recent years, China has accelerated the development of the low-altitude economy as a strategic industry. The Guizhou provincial government has strongly supported this growth, designating Anshun as a demonstration zone for low-altitude economic development. We hope Anshun and EHang will seize this strategic opportunity, deepen their collaboration and work together to build a thriving low-altitude industrial cluster. By aligning our efforts and strengths, we aim to integrate new productive forces with Guizhou’s natural beauty, unlock more application scenarios, create greater value and establish a national benchmark for low-altitude economic development.”
Yusheng Meng, deputy general manager of Guizhou Tourism Group, said:
“Guizhou Tourism Group has long been committed to innovation in the province’s tourism industry. The introduction of the EH216-S pilotless human-carrying aircraft brings new vitality and possibilities to our scenic areas, offering visitors an unprecedented aerial sightseeing experience. We look forward to further collaboration with EHang to fully realize the potential of Guizhou’s natural and cultural heritage. Together, we aim to build a globally recognized low-altitude tourism brand and contribute to the province’s emerging low-altitude economy.”
Zhao Wang, chief operating officer of EHang, said:
“Following the issuance of China’s first batch of operation certificates for pilotless human-carrying aircraft, EHang is working closely with certified air mobility operators to advance safe operation and commercial deployment of the EH216-S. This 50-unit purchase order demonstrates strong customer recognition of EHang’s technology and capabilities and reflects growing market confidence in the future of the low-altitude economy. Guizhou’s tourism resources and mountainous terrain make it ideal for aerial sightseeing and eVTOL mobility. This partnership will deepen our presence in Guizhou, explore new development models and deliver safe, eco-friendly aerial experiences that drive high-quality consumption through low-altitude innovation.”
