Eve Air Mobility 与巴林签署框架协议

Eve Air Mobility has signed a framework agreement with Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications to develop electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft operations in the kingdom.

The agreement announced during the Gateway Gulf Investment Forum 2025 establishes objectives including a sandbox environment to test advanced air mobility systems and vertiport infrastructure development. Commercial operations are expected to begin in 2028 and expand to international routes by 2029.

“Signing this Framework Agreement with the Kingdom of Bahrain represents a step in our journey to bring sustainable air mobility to the Middle East,” said Johann Bordais, chief executive at Eve. “Bahrain’s vision to become a hub for innovation and clean transportation aligns with our mission to transform the way people move in cities and regions sustainably.”

The partnership will support development of Bahrain’s regulatory, operational and infrastructure systems for eVTOL operations. The collaboration includes workforce training and focuses on zero-emission, low-noise operations.

“The Agreement with Eve Air Mobility demonstrates Bahrain’s commitment to establishing the region as a center of excellence for innovation in aviation,” said Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, minister at Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications. “Together, we are committed to making safe and sustainable aviation a reality for Bahrain, the GCC region and the world.”

According to Eve, the company is evaluating routes in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Riyadh, Jeddah, Doha, Istanbul and Manama. The routes will serve both residents and tourists.

Eve’s eVTOL features UV and IR window protection, air conditioning and a lift and cruise design that minimizes exposure to dust and sand. The New York-listed company is backed by Embraer’s aerospace operations and develops air traffic management solutions alongside its aircraft project.

The company provides services and support for the urban air mobility sector. Eve is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and São Paulo Stock Exchange.
