A "low-altitude investment subsidiary" of Sichuan Airlines Group has signed a purchase agreement with China's Volant for fifty VE25-100 electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) passenger aircraft, including 30 options. The aircraft is designed to carry five passengers and one pilot, with a range of 200 to 400 kilometres. It completed its first piloted transition flight in May 2026 and remains under type certification. Volant has already secured confirmed orders for the VE25-100 from China Southern Airlines General Aviation, Asian Express Aviation, and ABC Financial Leasing, including ten aircraft for the latter.
