UrbanV and Aeroporti di Roma today launched the Airport AAM Masterclass at Rome Fiumicino Airport’s Innovation Hub, bringing together aviation leaders, regulators, and innovators to explore the integration of advanced air mobility (AAM) into airport ecosystems. Running until Thursday, 25 September, the Masterclass will feature in-depth sessions, an APOC tour of the Leonardo da Vinci, and the UV-0 test vertiport tour, offering participants a hands-on look at the future of air mobility. The event opened with a welcome speech by Ivan Bassato, Chairman of UrbanV and Chief Aviation Officer of Aeroporti di Roma, who highlighted the Innovation Hub’s role as an incubator for next-generation airport solutions. Speakers also examined vertiport design, regulatory frameworks, and technical challenges such as downwash and rotor wash, underscoring the importance of collaboration across the industry.
