The October 2026 edition of eVTOL Insights’ Digital Magazine is now available, bringing together industry developments and perspectives on the people, technologies and infrastructure shaping Advanced Air Mobility.
Headlining this issue is an in-depth feature with Brandon Robinson, CEO and co-founder of Horizon Aircraft, who shares a candid perspective on leadership, risk and resilience.
From lessons learned as a fighter pilot to the personal pressures of entrepreneurship, Robinson discusses what it takes to build an aviation business, develop a team and keep commercial priorities at the heart of aircraft development. The conversation takes readers beyond programme milestones to explore the decisions and experiences behind Horizon’s journey.
Also featured in this month’s edition is Joby Aviation’s autonomous journey across the United States. A converted Cessna Caravan equipped with the company’s autonomy technology travelled 3,199 miles from California to North Carolina without control inputs from its onboard safety pilot, offering a glimpse into the potential applications of autonomous flight.
On the ground, we examine Archer Aviation and BETA Technologies’ plans for a shared charging network in Texas. Their proposed approach highlights the importance of infrastructure that can accommodate multiple aircraft manufacturers and operators as electric aviation develops.
In Europe, the magazine looks at three projects selected for the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Hydrogen Challenge, addressing questions around aircraft turnaround, hydrogen storage and airport infrastructure. The work will help build understanding of the practical requirements for introducing hydrogen into aviation.
Meanwhile, SkyDrive and Verty’s plans to explore commercial eVTOL services in South Korea from 2028 provide an Asia-Pacific perspective. Their feasibility study will examine potential routes, infrastructure and operational requirements, with tourism and regional connections among the applications under consideration.
These are just a few of the stories inside the October edition, with further coverage from across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
As the industry works towards everyday operations, this issue examines a central question: what will it take to turn promising aircraft programmes into dependable, commercially viable services?
