Signature Aviation and UrbanV have formally launched Signature UrbanV Alliance (SUVA), a US joint venture intended to develop and operate infrastructure for advanced air mobility (AAM), including electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft.

Announced on 21 October at NBAA-BACE 2026, the venture follows an agreement first announced in June 2025. The companies said its launch marks a move from planning towards implementation, although specific locations and deployment timelines have not yet been disclosed.

SUVA plans to create a network linking airports with urban and regional destinations. Initial operations are expected to use existing Signature Aviation facilities, with services such as aircraft charging, handling and passenger support integrated into current aviation infrastructure.

As demand develops, the joint venture intends to expand the network with purpose-built vertiports at urban and regional locations. The approach is designed to connect airport-based facilities with sites closer to passengers’ final destinations, rather than developing individual locations as standalone projects.

Signature Aviation will contribute its US aviation footprint and operating capabilities, while UrbanV will provide expertise in planning, developing and operating AAM infrastructure. The partners said the network would be available to multiple aircraft manufacturers and operators, rather than being tied to a single aircraft type or service provider.

SUVA will work with airports, municipalities, property owners, aircraft manufacturers, operators and infrastructure partners to identify potential sites, assess demand and establish the technical, regulatory and commercial arrangements needed for deployment.

The companies have not specified which markets will be prioritised or when the first locations could begin supporting commercial services. The development of a functioning network will depend on factors including site selection, infrastructure investment, regulatory requirements and the readiness of aircraft and operators.
